Our municipality has many spots to explore on the water. Get into a canoe or onto a paddle board, go on an adventure and enjoy the beautiful nature all around you! Follow your own route or choose one of the routes below.
Reeuwijkse Plassen is a lake district with a unique character. There are no fewer than thirteen lakes in this region. All the lakes are separated by narrow country roads. Ideal for canoe or paddle board trips. Supping is done on a paddle board; a kind of surfboard you stand on with a paddle. Anyone from the age of about 9 can go paddle boarding or supping. It’s a bit too hard for younger children. Paddle boards and canoes can be rented at the Sup & Watershop. Click here for the route.

The meandering peat river, the Meije, runs through to the Nieuwkoop lakes. Gently steer your canoe through the reed-lands towards the lakes and stop at De Meij picnic area (with a jetty) along the way. Click here for the route.
