The route starts from TOP Boskoop, where you can also park your car. Sortimentstuin ‘Harry van de Laar’ is located next to TOP and is freely accessible from sunrise to sunset. The 2-hectare garden is home to over 2500 different tree nursery crops. The route takes you through the Boskoop area and is known as the largest continuous tree nursery in the world. The area offers a wonderful variety of water-rich tree nursery areas, low-lying reclaimed land and peat meadow polders. The route also passes the Reeuwijkse Plassen area. These lakes were created by peat extraction. The peat was dredged far below groundwater level to be dried into peat to heat homes. Today, the peat lakes are a recreational area.
