Walking route Peat and Garden (16.90 km)

This beautiful route takes you through Reeuwijk-Dorp, Tempel and Boskoop. Boskoop is well known for its trees. In 1132, Petronella, the widow of Floris II of Holland, started the construction of a convent in Rijnsburg. The well-read nuns brought grafting and tree growing to Boskoop. All this, along with the fact that the nuns prohibited any further peat extraction from their land, was the impetus for the tree nursery in Boskoop.
