A hiking route through the largest open polder area in the Groene Hart. At the end of December, in 1672, the French army moved through this area to Zwammerdam to push on to The Hague. They were stopped and the French had to retreat, but not before having looted Bodegraven and Zwammerdam. There’s no sign of this violent past here anymore. All you will hear now is the sound of the wind and the birds on the meadows.
